British and Irish Lions; Rory Best, Rhys Webb and Jonathan Joseph look ahead to their upcoming game against the All Blacks

The Lions players were enjoying some down time away from the rugby field where they are taking on the best rugby players in New Zealand, but also taking the time to understand the country they are touring. What better way to do so than by tackling the country itself, as to understand the terrain and the country, could offer the clues to overcoming the rugby team at the heart of the country and its people.

For this challenge, Land Rover’s All New Discovery was the obvious choice. The vehicle that has been providing logistical support for the team on its tour of New Zealand is just as capable off road and was put to the test by the players at Off Road New Zealand, a sprawling network of off-road driving tracks just outside Rotorua, in the North Island of New Zealand.

Getting into the driving seat for the afternoon of the off-road experience was the likes of James Haskell, Jonathan Joseph, Rory Best, Tommy Seymour and Rhys Webb. All the players took to the driving with the same skill and composure they show in the famous red Lions jersey.

Land Rover has a heritage in supporting rugby at all levels; from grassroots to elite, with the British & Irish Lions tour to New Zealand Land Rover’s seventh time supporting the team. Land Rover not only understands rugby but shares some of the sports key values or resilience, integrity, and passion.
