NOVEMBER 2016: Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels (HSH), owner of the Peninsula Hotel chain, celebrated its 150th anniversary and its position as the oldest registered company in Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong Hotel Company, Limited, HSH was one of the first Companies to be listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and is currently the oldest registered company on the Hong Kong Companies Registry. For a century and a half, the compelling story of HSH has been closely tied to its city of origin, Hong Kong. The Peninsula flagship based in Hong Kong has been has been a World's Best winner for 20 years without pause.
The company owns and operates some of the Hong Kong city’s most popular tourist attractions, such as the Peak Tram, The Peak Tower and The Repulse Bay Complex. HSH’s legacy extends far beyond the city of Hong Kong, as their iconic Peninsula Hotels enrich ten capital cities across the world with luxury accommodations.
The signature style of the Peninsula Hotels, a perfect blend of ancient traditions and modern elements, earned the brand worldwide recognition. To celebrate the success of the past 150 years, the company hosted a grandiose party in their flagship Hong Kong Peninsula hotel. The hotel was decorated with hand-crafted, helium inflated giant balloons to highlight the milestones achieved through the company’s journey and look forward to exciting future developments.
